School Field Trips in the Spring

We’d like to invite your elementary school for an enriching field trip experience at our Plympton farm. This visit offers students a hands-on learning experience across several stations, designed to combine an understanding of agriculture and science with FUN!  Each station takes 20-25 minutes to complete and we can accommodate up to 30 students per station or 150 students in total per day.  Below is an overview of the standard stations and activities:

STATION 1: Plant Life Cycles & Hands-On Planting

  • Engage in a planting activity where each student will have the opportunity to plant a sunflower seed, which they can bring home with them.

STATION 2: Fun and Games

  • Experience the joy of the outdoors with a jumping pillow, duck races, and barnyard arcade.

STATION 3: Bees and Pollination

  • Learn about the life cycle of bees and how they are organized in a hive.  See the bees in action in a real observation hive.

  • Learn about the role of bees in pollination and food production.

STATION 4: Adventure and Play

  • Enjoy a ride on the cow train, have fun in the playground, and challenge yourselves on the low ropes course.

STATION 5: Hay Wagon Ride & Farm Tour

  • Take a hay wagon ride around the farm, including a guided tour with a stop (time-permitting) to discuss a point of interest.

This year we are offering an option of GEMSTONE MINING.  Each student receives a 3-lb bag of mining rough that they can process in the flume.  Students receive a ziplock bag to take home their finds and a mineral identification card.  Gemstone mining will add an additional 20-25 minutes to the field trip and costs $6 extra per student.

Is there something special you would like us to include in the field trip?  Any special learning stations not in the standard field trip?  Just let us know.  We can customize your field trip to your needs.

At a cost of only $12 per student, this field trip provides a perfect blend of education, fun, and practical learning experiences that will benefit students greatly. We are offering spring field trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from mid-April through June.  We look forward to the opportunity to host your students for a day filled with discovery and excitement!

To schedule your field trip, please email jillian@sauchukfarm.com.  Minimum number of students to open is 60.
